Marking its inaugural appearance on Saturday 2nd May 1998, the festival debuted at the vast Matterley Estate in Winchester, Hampshire. Starting out as one-day event attracting a 25,000-strong crowd, the festival immediately captured attention with its unbeatable lineup. Despite its debut status, the festival drew in heavyweight electronic artists from across the globe, including Sasha, Paul van Dyk, Daft Punk, and Tony De Vit.
